Coinbase Pro Login Guide — 2025 Update

Everything you need to sign in safely to Coinbase’s advanced trading tools (formerly “Coinbase Pro”), enable modern authentication, and protect your account.

What happened to “Coinbase Pro”?

Coinbase consolidated Coinbase Pro into the main Coinbase platform under the Advanced Trade interface. If you previously used Coinbase Pro you now access the same advanced features through Coinbase's Advanced/Advanced Trade pages — you sign in with your standard Coinbase account credentials and the same security settings apply.

If you try to visit an old Coinbase Pro login page you’ll be redirected to the unified sign-in/Advanced Trade experience. See the official announcement for migration details and where to view historical statements.

How to sign in (step-by-step)

1. Open the official sign-in

Go to coinbase.com/signin. Use a bookmarked link or type the URL yourself — avoid links from emails or search results if you suspect phishing.

2. Enter your email & password

Type the email address tied to your Coinbase account and your password. If you're using a password manager, prefer a verified manager rather than storing passwords in a browser that’s not protected.

3. Complete second factor

Coinbase will require a second verification step. Depending on what you set up, you may receive:

  • Push Security Prompt via the Coinbase mobile app
  • A code from an authenticator app (TOTP)
  • A hardware security key (YubiKey / FIDO)
  • A passkey (device biometrics, optional)

Tip

If you haven’t enabled a second factor yet, go to your Settings → Security → 2-step verification after signing in and add at least two methods (e.g., Authenticator app + Security Prompt) to avoid lockouts.

Modern authentication options (what’s new in 2024–2025)

Coinbase supports passkeys (a password-less, phishing-resistant method), security keys (FIDO2 hardware like YubiKey), authenticator apps (TOTP), and the Security Prompt (push notifications). Passkeys are increasingly recommended because they combine device possession and biometric verification — making phishing attacks far less effective.

If you can, add a passkey and an additional method (like a hardware key or authenticator app) so you have a recovery option if a device is lost.

Troubleshooting common login issues

Can’t receive SMS codes

If SMS is your only 2FA and you lost access to the number, follow Coinbase’s recovery flow. SMS is less secure — consider replacing it with an authenticator or passkey.

Authenticator app codes failing

Ensure the device clock is correct (TOTP relies on time). If you still cannot log in, use a backup method (security key or recovery codes) or follow Coinbase’s 2-step verification troubleshooting guide.

Lost device / lost passkey

Sign in with another approved method. If all methods are lost, prepare to verify identity with Coinbase support — this can take time, so keep recovery details up to date.

Best security practices — quick checklist

  • Use a unique, strong password stored in a trusted password manager.
  • Enable passkeys or a hardware security key (YubiKey) where possible.
  • Keep at least two 2FA methods configured (authenticator + passkey/hardware key).
  • Beware of phishing: never enter credentials on pages reached from suspicious emails.
  • Regularly review active sessions and connected apps in Settings → Security.
If you suspect account compromise

Immediately change your password, revoke sessions, disable API keys, and contact Coinbase support. Move funds to cold storage if you have control of withdrawal keys offline.
